Worldplay Research Initiative : Project Overview
Welcome to Worldplay Research Initiative (WRI) -- a collaborative research project that explores the issues associated with cross-cultural interactions in virtual worlds. Our goal is to identify creative ways that players, game developers, and industry professionals can nurture and extend transnational cooperation in virtual worlds. Spearheaded by approximately nine communication researchers, this project grew out of a Trinity University college seminar offered in Fall 2009. (An archival copy of the old course page is accessible via this page's footer.)
In the interests of reciprocity, we are opening up our research process to the broader community of gamers and games researchers.
