Student web logs

These research journals are maintained by Trinity University students enrolled in the class "Games for the Web: Ethnography of Massively Multiplayer On-line Games." In previous versions of this class, students have written research papers about World of Warcraft and research papers about Everquest II. This semester, we will be exploring Vanguard: Saga of Heroes.

Throughout the semester, students will leverage a range of quantitative and qualitative research methods as they explore sociological issues associated with massively multiplayer virtual worlds. Each student in the class will pursue a different research question, and all of the final research papers will be linked to this site at the end of the semester.

In the interests of reciprocity, we are opening up our research process to the broader community of gamers and games researchers. Please wander through the site at your leisure, and take a look at the student's preliminary findings. We would love to hear your constructive feedback, either through e-mail or via postings to student web logs.
