Both personal and impersonal, the Qualities convey a variety of human emotions in a simple and entertaining manner; readers are inspired to reflect on their own qualities and communicate their feelings with new clarity.

Assignment: Select a quality from Gendler’s book. Create an artistic response to this quality for presentation in class on T 1/20. You may use the electronic equipment in the class for your presentation. If you need additional support materials, contact your assigned peer mentor for guidance. Consider sculpture, dance, music, collage, poetry, non-verbal drama … the sky is the limit. For the benefit of the class, to introduce your presentation you may want to read Gendler’s text or project it electronically.
