PUBLICITY CREW

The PR Crew will assist in the development of a publicity campaign to promote our show to the campus

As a crew, you are to meet outside of class to brainstorm as to how we might promote the production and get people to attend.  I have examples of materials and ideas from past publicity crews.

Specifically, you are to assist in the following:

You will work with Willy and me to create a Poster and Program Cover. Your crew may decide to create additional promotional materials, which we may use in advertising our show. You will be in charge of distributing the posters throughout campus.

· Program Design and Execution

The crew will design and execute the program. I have examples of previous programs for your use. You will need to do a program layout, do all the data entry, and create a final proof for the printers. Students will be required to e-mail you their bios for inclusion in the program. One member of the crew will need to take headshots.

· Writing or getting an article in the newspaper

In the past, some publicity crews have been able to get an article and photos in the Trinitonian the week prior to our opening. With a class of our size, there should be some campus interest. However, the paper does not automatically agree to print an article. This is up to your crew. Sometimes, a PR member will write an article and submit it to the appropriate editor at the Trinitonian.

· Scheduling interviews for Tiger TV

Every semester, the PR crew makes arrangements with Tiger TV for promotion and for an interview during tech week. Some semesters we have been able to produce a promotional video which runs on Tiger TV. How about a PR spot???

· Making Tickets

This crew is responsible for preparing and printing individual tickets for each performance. See me regarding this.

· Making Banners

Should we make a banner to be hung somewhere on campus?

· Etc.

The sky in the limit.

On the syllabus, you will note a specific deadline for the publicity campaign. One of you should be the communication person who will e-mail me after you have met and established a plan and deadlines.

Finally, your job is to advertise the show, fill all the seats, prepare the tickets and programs and ultimately, assist me with the house management responsibilities.

As always, if you have questions, you are to contact me.
