ACT ONE

SCENE 1:  DECK OF THE CHOW PHYA

PROPS:  Captain Orton smoking a pipe.
01  Deck is crowded with boxes and crates of furniture
Three crates, dish barrel, furniture … 2 pieces.
Two deckhands carry on a trunk  Large steamer trunk

 SCENE 3:  KING’S LIBRARY IN THE ROYAL PALACE
 SCENERY/PROPS:  King sits on his royal platform dictating to his secretary.

 PROPS:  Large Stand with Map.  Ancient Map showing a very large Siam with a heroic figure of an armored king superimposed.  Adjoining is a much smaller Burma, with a pathetic naked figure.  Blue ocean, Red Siam.  Green Burma.

SCENE 1:  RECEPTION HALL OF THE PALACE (SCHOOLROOM)
PROPS:  Floor and tables are covered with dress-making materials.
Chinese artist is painting the face of one of the ladies.  Make-up.

King give Anna a piece of paper with list of subjects for discussion.
