Boiler Room
The SR door did not function
during the run of the show I saw on Saturday.
Otter ramp on the upstage side
need to be painted the yellow ochre for the otter as it is too hot with the
sun.
White Star
The sheeting is warping.
Al, I believe that the wiring
from the telephone pole to the diner was cut as per your instructions. It can still use some lower wires to
provide a composition frame as per the SL side. May we add some?
Backside of White Star
Pipes on telephone poles need
to match the rusty pipe treatment.
US railing behind the Water
Tower needs to be masked. We need to build and paint a wall as the
patrons can see people entering back there.
Diner
Clean up, sharpen tile effect
on floor; the teal color has bled into cream tile color in places.
Floor needs shading and aging
treatment around counter.
ADD Jukebox. It should play Scotts music.
Blend seams
It would be nice to ADD a sign
right under the water tower uprights to designate the entrance into the Diner
that says EAT HERE.
Canning Company Brick Bldg.
Trim on the SL wall is coming
up.
Snob Bldg
Blend the wooden plank
treatment more consistently and delineate more planks. . Blend
wooden plank treatment over seams.
Create more individual planks.
Ice House
Blend wooden plank treatment
over seams.
Ice cube graphic needs to be painted onto building. Ask
Brian and Doug for placement. See my web site. Once approved, Cole
can paint it onto something that can be cut out and appliqud onto the building.
Sheeting is warping.
ADD small sign above the Off
Stage Left blue large door that says RECEIVING
The rain gutter on the roof is
cool! Nice paint job.
Portola wall
Paint wood treatment on stairs
going off stage.
Wood decking treatment is too
cartooned and contrasting. Bring it into the style of the rest of the
set. It could still use an ochre wash to tone down the high contrasting
areas. This would pull it in closer to the elevation.
Office
Outside the office door and all
the walls backstage, paint a dark brown to make it go neutral.
The office desk needs to be
painted a higher value. When the
otter stands on the box in front of the box, he blends into the desk same
color. A higher value would set
him out.
I think the water cooler base
needs to go darker. The white
pulls focus.
Dressing
ADD rope to vertical posts on
the dock as set dressing as per the rendering?
Labels on the boxes?
Floor
I know the floor will be
painted after spring break. The
ramps going into the dock and diner need to be aged and darkened. I would suggestion water streaks to
break up the surface. They stand
out right now.
SIGHT LINE CONSIDERATIONS
The Otter Ramp SL opening is
large and may needs a dark treatment masking behind.
Already discussed the platform
entrance to the water tower
We can see through the SL
window in the Codfish faade. If this is a problem, we may want to place
some masking there.
General Thoughts
Hopefully the extra trainers
can be costumed. I suggest
overalls with CodFish Cannery logos, maybe other ones too Blue Sail,
etc. If you go with this, can they
be different colors? Gray, brown,
blue. How about some period hats
too? Dock worker hats?
Paint job on the safety railing
is splendid.
Is there a way to have water
running on the otter ramp from the Snob to the Boiler instead of a trainer
spraying it at the top of the show?
A water hose might be a low tech way.
Is there a way to have water
running on the diner counter? On
the office floor? I know it would
be an added expense but ultimately, it would be better than having a trainer
spray it down right before the show.
Would it be possible to have
lighting blast a special on each of the windows or on various areas to pull
focus on this and that when a moment needs focus? I see we have added moving lights. Even during the day, this enhancement will show, in my
opinion.
It would be great to add
lighting underneath the office deck to light the dock area. The sun creates major shadows there and
the lighting would be a nice touch.
