The portfolio is illustrated with magnificent large-scale lithographs by David Alfaro Siqueiros, one of the leading Mexican artists of the 20th century. The exhibit is made possible by the generous loan of the portfolio to Trinity University by the San Antonio Museum of Art. Click on the links below to learn more about the life and work of Pablo Neruda, the writing and publication of Canto general, the life and work of David Alfaro Siqueiros, and the friendship between the two men that led to this literary-artistic collaboration.
The opening ceremony for the exhibit will take place on Friday, February 21 at 7:00 PM in the lobby of the Dicke Art Building. The ceremony will include remarks about the portfolio and the Neruda-Siqueiros friendship by San Antonio Neruda aficionado and expert William Fisher, readings by poet Jennifer Browne, and Chilean and Mexican songs performed by Duamuxa.
