Set 04 of My Sunrise and Sunset Favorites from the White Mountains of New Hampshire
Bob Jensen at Trinity University

On May 14, 2006 I retired from Trinity University after a long and wonderful career as an accounting professor in four universities. I was generously granted "Emeritus" status by the Trustees of Trinity University. My wife and I now live in a cottage in the White Mountains of New Hampshire ---

Our address is 190 Sunset Hill Road, Sugar Hill, New Hampshire
Our cottage was known as the Brayton Cottage in the early 1900s
Sunset Hill is a ridge overlooking with New Hampshire's White Mountains to the East
and Vermont's Green Mountains to the West

Sunrise, sunset ,
Swiftly fly the years,
One season following another,
Laden with happiness,
And tears

This week I will feature Set 4 of my favorite sunrise and sunset pictures mostly taken from inside our cottage.
But I will also display some other pictures that were downloaded from one of my cameras in late November 2016

This is the sun setting on two old maple trees as seen from my desk

This is a morning cloud at sunrise over Mt. Lafaette

This is sunset on Mt. Lafayette

This is a sunset on Mt. Lafayette later in the autumn

This is a morning cloud at sunrise over Cannon Mountain
The building is the top of the tram used to take skiers to the top of the mountain
It also houses a restaurant and a bar (nothing fancy)

This is a new ski trail carved out last summer on Cannon Mountain
From my desk the skiers will look like black dots from my desk unless I use a high powered telescope
I think this trail (among the 60+ Cannon Mt. ski trails) is intended more for snow boarding

The picture below shows a longer ski trail on Cannon that is visible from my desk
Unlike Cannon, Mt. Lafayette has no ski trails or lifts

My Erika at Sunset

The wind was so strong below it ripped loose the bottom of my flag alongside our driveway

I see from my house by the side of the road
By the side of the highway of life,
The men who press with the ardor of hope,
The men who are faint with the strife,
But I turn not away from their smiles and tears,
Both parts of an infinite plan-
Let me live in a house by the side of the road
And be a friend to man.
