ACT I
Setting: The Nursery of the Gayev manor house. May. The Cherry Orchard is in bloom.

ACT II
Setting: Meadow on the estate near an abandoned chapel with tombstones and a well.

Charlotta: forage cap, hunting clothes

ACT III

Setting: Drawing room with chandelier, next to ballroom. August.

COSTUMES
The costumes are not specified in the script, however, it can be assumed all are dressed for a formal ball--dance attire.

Also needed for Act III are waltz and rond music, and sounds of a billiard game.

ACT IV

Setting: Same as Act I, only empty. Luggage piled up.

COSTUMES
Ranevskaya, Anya, Varya, Charlotta, Dunyasaha: Travelling clothes. inc. hat and coat
Gayev, Yasha: Travelling clothes. Including coats.
Trofimov: overcoat
Lopakhin: overcoat
Firs: jacket and white waistcoat, slippers.

Most important in this act is the sound of an axe chopping down a cherry tree.
